Hayes Conference Centre, Derbyshire (27–29 March 2026)

Located in a central part of the country, The Hayes is the perfect centre for people to travel to from all across the UK. The centre features great travel links that makes it easy to get to, no matter where you are commuting from.

We chose the Hayes because it’s a not-for-profit Christian centre with beautiful gardens, plenty of natural light, and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere. A world away from corporate conference venues.

You can find directions here.

The nearest station is Alfreton (3 miles from the venue), which is on the main Liverpool-to-Norwich line, and a short journey from Derby or Nottingham on other mainline routes.

There will be some taxis provided to and from Alfreton at the following times:

There will be 2 taxis leaving every 15 minutes from Alfreton Station to The Hayes from 10am to 1pm on Friday 27th, as pre booked by us. The taxi company is Amber Taxis. Please ensure that when you get into the taxi, that it is one booked by us as this has already been paid for. We will then have 4 taxis leaving every 15 mins between 2pm and 3pm on Sunday 29th going to Alfreton Station. Where possible, please try to arrive in pairs or groups and avoid taking a taxi solo.’

Please do check to see if there are other Unitarians nearby to fill up the taxis as much as we can!

If you are travelling outside of these times you can book a taxi directly with Amber Taxis (see the Hayes website for details) or catch the bus from the station to ‘The Gate’ pub in Swanwick from which there is a short walk to the venue.

Registration will be open from 11am on Friday 27th. Please arrive in good time to be ready and settled for our opening ceremony at 2pm.

There is free parking on site, as well as some electric vehicle charging points.
